The tenth day of the in-service course for the primary teachers began with the assembly programme presented by the members of Shakespeare Group. The Course Director Shri.C.Muthiah, Principal, KV Narimedu, Madurai greeted the participants and gave certain tips for effective teaching and the need to do meticulous correction work of notebooks giving positive comments.

A poem written by Mr.M.Lawrence, a participant about motherhood enthralled the participants. This was followed by a session on how to inculcate life skills among primary kids by Mr.G.S.Murugan, Resource Person. The demo classes by the participants on various subjects gave different useful strategies under different competencies to get the expected learning outcome. Mrs.G.Laila,Resource Person urged the participants to improve their reading habits for professional growth and gave different methodologies for effective teaching to build the nation with better citizens.

The valedictory function began with a prayer song. Dr.Madanagopal, Professor, Dept. of Political Science, Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai presided over the function. The welcome address was given by the Course Director  Shri.C.Muthiah, Principal, KV Narimedu, Madurai. The impressions of the course was given by the participants Mrs.Sophia and Mr.Hemanth in Englihs and Hindi respectively followed by a poem by the participant Mrs.Devakiamma. Certificates to the participants were distributed by the Chief Guest. The Chief Guest in his address elaborated on socialization and the role of the teachers in such process. He further mentioned that change is inevitable and the teachers should train the students to adopt such changes without affecting the moral and ethical values. Vote of thanks was given by Mrs.Indira Ramaraju, Resource Person .

The function came to a close with the national anthem.

The 9th day of the 2nd spell of the inservice course for PRTs has been completed successfully on 04.01.2013. A fabulous Assembly programme was conducted by the EVS group. The participants of Abdul Kalam group threw light on patriotism, which is already imbibed in our blood and soul through enchanting video clippings and with write-ups. The pluck cards enlisted the statistical data about the developed India, which is now on the march towards as the developing nation.

 

Our Course director and the venue principal, Shri. C. Muthiah guided us to have a focus on our professional growth.

 

We were honoured to have our revered Deputy Commissioner, Shri.N.R.Murali for the morning session. We got in depth knowledge of enhancing language learning skills through radical and instrumental methods of innovation by motivating and inspirational guidance from our Deputy Commissioner. He inculcated us that we have to equip ourselves with eagle like qualities for renewing our methodology to attain the real zeal of learning process.

 

After the tea-break, our Deputy Commissioner stressed on BICS(Basic Interpersonal Communication Skills) and CALP(Cognitive Academic Language Proficiency) for the utility of language in various contexts using Vocabulary Journal. Hare and Tortoise story narrated by him highlighted that intellectuals can achieve their target easily and faster by showing and supporting one another. Also he elaborated about the purpose, content, design of the Worksheet which should cater the need of the children.

 

After the stamptuous lunch, the participants were engaged in post test for 2 hours. After the tea break, Mr. Ravichandran, RTO, Regional Transport Office, Madurai North explained about the data of accidents occur in India and also the reasons for it in connection with 24th Road Safety Awareness Programme, which is held from January 1st to 7th.

 

Mr. Narasimman, Driving Instructor interacted about the meaning of signals and symbols to be followed while driving through various video clips on accidents. Mr. Mukaiyan, Motor Vehicle Inspector described about ABC(Always Be Careful) and usage of air-horns regulating speedometer to reach our destination safely. Then the participants dispersed with the pack of knowledge and information powered in them on that fine day.

 A brief report on the happenings of 29.12.2012 of the II spell of Inservice Course.

 The day started with an excellent Assembly Programme by Premchand Group comprising of a thought by Mrs. Devaki Amma with a moral story in support of it. A vibrating Patriotic Song vibrated in everybody’s mind. Later our Course Director Shri. C. Muthiah, focused on the importance of taking care of one’s health especially the Lady teachers.

The guest lecturer on ‘Child Protection Right’ by Dr. P.N. Narayana raja, a volunteer of child welfare charity enlightened our minds by giving valuable information on Basic Child Rights. He discussed the Protection of Child Rights and some myths related to it in a very informative manner and equipped us to handle the children in a loving way.

After the tea-break, a very interesting session by Mr. Ramasamy, Librarian, KV, Narimedu, Madurai, captured all our attention towards his informative class on ‘Preparation and Publications of News Letter’. All of us acquired an immense knowledge which tempted many of us to ask questions and enhance their knowledge.

After a sumptuous lunch, two demo classes were conducted, one by Mrs. Meena and the other by Miss. Sumathi. All participants participated in a lively way in all the activities conducted by them. After that the highlight of the day was the session on ‘The Interactive Board or the Smart Board Class by Mr. Arvind Verma. It was a new and a wonderful experience to most of the participants. A first hand experience and knowledge made us all very inquisitive. The day’s work ended with the ICT session in the computer Lab.
